Posts here seem to be divided equally between Politics and Everything Else. I didn't plan it, it just turned out that way.
There's a story I like about a visiting mathematics professor. He announced that his forthcoming lecture would be titled "A new proof of Fermat's Last Theorem," one of the most famous unsolved problems in mathematics at the time. The lecture he gave, although superb, had nothing to do with it. When asked why he had given the lecture that title, he replied, "I always do that just in case I die in a car accident on the way."
In that spirit, when speaking of this Livejournal to someone without Internet access, I would be obliged if you would please refer to it as "Erudite Commentary," rather than "Infrequent irresponsible ranting." They'll never know.
